Dear Fellow Ranger:
In 1966, a new program came to be, and I am thankful that I
had the privilege of being the first Royal Ranger leader to
be initiated into the
"FRONTIERSMEN
CAMPING FRATERNITY". At that time, I took the name of "Flying Eagle".
As the frontiersmen traveled west to the new land (men,
women and children) they encountered many hazards on the
way. We, the frontiersmen, dressed like the men of the old
west, camped as such, and went through some hard times just
as they did. We even ate some nature foods, such as uncooked
foods.
We learned how these frontier people traveled across the
country to reach new land where they would establish
settlements. The native Americans (Indians) were already on
this land and were opposed to the new settlers that came.
The frontiersmen battled the Indians, lost many along the
way, but continued on.
As a
"Frontiersmen", I traveled and went through hardships in the Ozark
mountains in Missouri. It was while traveling through the
Ozarks that I carried my walking stick which had a
"flying eagle" atop. The stick signified my presence in the tent
where I camped.
In the Ozark mountains, the
"National
Rendezvous" gathered. The night council fires brought each of us
closer together as we listened to our leaders speaking,
shared our faith, and were in the setting of nature on the
river's banks.
In all, I would recommend whoever can survive the frontier
hardships to join up and receive great blessings from the
great FRONTIERSMAN
"FROM
ABOVE".
In Jesus,
Flying Eagle
